Karen Melfi Collection
Miranda Hicks began her journey in jewelry-making with an apprenticeship to her sister, Heather Hicks, in Taos, New Mexico in 1989, learning the traditional art of the Southwest Indian silversmiths. Inspired by old and ancient works and the artists of antiquity, she decided to embark on her own line of jewelry in 1994, producing pieces that seemingly spoke to women of all walks of life; including clients such as Pat Benatar, Julia Roberts and Hilary Swank.
The line Miranda has created for the Karen Melfi Collection is inspired by her love of raw and natural minerals and the making of handmade chain, as well as her own "eclectic bohemian" style. Using sterling silver, she hand fabricates pieces that are unique, if not one of a kind.
